It was the knock on Naya’s front door that would change her life forever.
Again.
What would you do if you unexpectedly came face-to-face with your past and your future?
The last time Naya ventured into the Colorado woods, she discovered her Fae heritage and met the man whose face had haunted her dreams. But this time, the answers she seeks lie with the seemingly mortal man who wears her dead husband’s face and the magical artifact that pulses where her soul once dwelled.
In a race against time, Naya, Irena, and Harris seek the elusive answers to Tian’s death and what his doppelganger Wyatt’s presence could mean – for them, and for the fate of Alonthiel.
Portals of Iron and Blood The Alonthiel Chronicles Book 2 eBook R L Haas
First, if you haven't read Rachel's first book, Portals of Water and Wine, you must. This book is better than the first only in the way that a trip back to a well-loved childhood hideout is infinitely more magical as an adult - because that is what this is, a homecoming, a slipping back into a world of belonging and magic and comfort as natural as breathing. Speaking of which, you should take a deep breath before you begin reading because you won't be doing much of it for the duration of the book.By turns tender, funny, heartstoppingly terrifying, homey, faith-breathing, bold and sweet, this book will draw you in and spit you out gasping for more. Cannot recommend enough.

Portals of Iron and Blood The Alonthiel Chronicles Book 2 eBook R L Haas Reviews
This book was all kinds of wonderful. Haas has done it again, with a brilliant sequel to her first, Portals of Water and Wine, that had me laughing, crying, gasping, squealing, for hours. Naya's story grows even deeper, and features new unexpected twists that left me breathless. The book kept me firmly planted on the edge of my seat from page one, where a knock at the door changes everything - again. Wyatt was an enthralling character, despite his brevity, and the return of many of the first book's characters was a pleasant one. Overall, at the conclusion of this book, I was left with exactly four words tingling on the tip of my tongue I. Demand. Book. Three.
I really liked book 1 in this series, but this one has me begging for more. Can't wait for the next book!
Intricately woven battles, love, fear, and courage.
I laughed, giggled, sobbed and wept quietly. I became this story..or maybe it became me...
R. L. Haas has done it again! ...a rich world... fantastic characters... a horrible villain... high stakes... you'll be glad you read it!
This book picked right back up where it left off in the first book in the series and just kept running! I had been awaiting this book and counting down the days to the release and I was not disappointed. Naya, Irena, & Harris are like old friends now. Looking forward to the third installment!
This book made me fall even more in love with the world of Alonthiel and the characters that inhabit it. (Which totally makes up for the way the cliffhanger at the end of the first book left me gasping!)
Portals of Iron and Blood ended with another cliffhanger that's left me so excited for the next book in the series!
R. L. Haas does it again. This book a fantasy takes a darker turn in some ways than her first foray into Alonthiel. But it's so, so good. She weaves a story of love, loss, faith, and community all wrapped within Fae magic.
