I have read each book in this series up to this one. The story telling is good. Although two really convenient coincidences that don't make any real sense, but then again, it is a work of fiction. Still the coincidences are a bit hard to believe. The editing is much better and I can only recall two times in this book where the author used the wrong names of his characters (used the name of one when it should have been another). Another time he has Zack introduce Dusty as his nephew (which he isn't), when it should have been Joe making the introduction. Normally these kind of mistakes would be irreconcilable, but I really enjoy the tale. The stories are good and the writing is getting better.Product details

Boom Town..Book #5 in The McCabes series..thoroughly enjoyable..excellent series..well written ..can't go wrong with a good western..this series is one of the best I've read..
Another good book by Brad. After the last book I thought he might have been heading towards a block, but he came through with this one. This McCabes series has the earmarks of Sacket's series by La'mour. I will hope to see this combining of characters, landscaping, and story line to grow. Enjoyed this book very much. It also had a strong under current for those who believe in morality.
The town of McCabe Gap is growing. The discovery of Gold has brought a boom to the town which is now called Jubilee. Many changes to both the town and the McCabe family.
Okay..I am hooked. Gonna by the entire series. Love the McCabes. Lots of good shoot em up action. But, a lot of morals and a story about good people. I am a 74 years old woman and I read a lot of different genres. This book is good for everyone who wants to read a good book about people settling in the west. Please read this series.
I like the Mccabes. The whole family are gun hawks, even a daughter. Shoshone spirit does work for me. I read the other, in order, books in the series. I delayed a few months to resume this series. I like the author, but he wasted his ability, writing about unbelievable family and characters.
A real treacherous bad guy lurking. Second chances for criminals, and love are both cute. Lame characters and a predictable story are boorish.
Two, or three good love stories.
I love books about the old west. Brad Dennison is one of my favorite writers on the subject. This one continues the family saga and doesn't disappoint. I like that the author keeps things moving, not dragging out a problem forever. I am so looking forward to book six, but at the same time I dread the day I will finish this series! I will read as many of the author's books as I can...thanks, Brad...keep on writin', pardner.
BD has written the 4th novel one the McCabe Clan Series. That action extends from Oregon, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas into old Mexico to break a man out of a Mexican Prison. As this is being accomplished there are numerous other activities proceeding at once and as they end the ending is in Montana. A case of child molestation, murder and other nefarious misdeeds. Then again this is an era of new beginnings and 2nd chances. Third is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
